In continuation of my despatch No. 559 of
the 8th November, 1933, on the subject of the British
Empire Fair in Hong Kong, I have the honour to inform you that the question of the repetition of the Fair has
been given most careful consideration by the British
Empire Fair Committee.

Briefly the proposals put forward were such
as appeared to the promoters to be likely to secure the
largest measure of support from the mercantile community.
They included the substitution of an Anglo-Chinese for a
purely British Fair; the extension to 14 days of the
period of the Fair; and the provisional fixing of
November, 1935, as the date on which the next Fair should
be held.
